The new job

So so, this is different....I have never worked in a lawyers firm before....this is serious stuff!
At the moment there is a lot to do because the company is moving to a different location next weekend, right to the Potsdamer Platz. Because of that there is a lot archive work to do and mostly you do it in standing position...did I mentioned my high heeled shoes??? Which almost killed my feet yesterday??? There is a lot new stuff to learn for me, especially all the names of the lawyers and their secretarys...around 20 lawyers and at least 20 secretarys...puh, my brain is smoking because I have to connect the incoming telephone calls to the right person without taking ages to find them on the listwith the right number (hopefully the person on the other side has not hung up in the meantime...oops, no just kidding, I am not THAT slow!) So the telephone is still my biggest fear..

What else am I doing? Achive work, preparing the outgoing mail, incoming emails & faxes, preparing the meeting rooms incl. coffee etc. So far so good. The people are very nice and do already jokes with me ;-) but I am also glad to be off now for the next 4 days as everybody else is (I wasnt off for any holidays since January 2002!!!) So thats new for me too, always worked in hotels which have the most to do for Easter, New Years and weekends, but now I am off ...strange but good strange of course.

I am pretty tired now and will go to bed to relax and being ready for the upcoming weekend (going to Boss Hoss on Saturday and the MaBaker Party afterwards...yeah).

My weekend

What else?

Friday I met my little girls I babysitted for a long time after 6 years again! Wow, that was exciting! They have been growing well and I am very happy to be back in contact (Shame on me for not having the contact for 6 years....bad girl). One is now 14 and one is 12, one is new ;-). She is 5 and the same cute and lovely as the others. Maybe it really is time now to have some children on my own...??
After my dear friend Tanja came by and we did some shopping (although it took us soo long to decide that we only made in into 2 shops and the shops closed leaving us with NOTHING....which is quite remarkable for girls...
We watched a nice movie (in german: 8 Blickwinkel) which was really cool and then biking home since the public transportation was still in strike, yeah, that was mainly my friday, just a start for the upcoming weekend.

Saturday....well, it was Volleyball time...All girls meeting, wearing push ups etc ready for the Party afterwards. The game was good and exciting, the SCC Berlin won and everybody was feeling great (although we had to drink the expensive Prossecco from the store next door which was not even close to the great taste of the cheap LIDL Prossecco, but you take what you can get. Should have been a sign for the night??
Then...famous Cocktail Bar Zeitlos, pretty packed this night..one drink, little talking (Sandra is our new saturday evening manager on the phone..)

and then on the way to the FRITZ CLUB (origininally the plan was KALKSCHEUNE) but somehow we ended up in a long waiting process for the Fritz thing (it really is more a thing than a club). After lining up again for the wardrobe....we made it finally inside (after paying 6 EUR instead of the promised 4 EUR). Well, what should I say....a desaster of a club. Just a big non-fency fabric hall with 3 kind of dancefloors with really too much people, mostly around 10-20 years younger than me...great! It smelled like beer, sweat and toilets, it took around 10 minutes to get from one room to another and the music was not that great either. How are you supposed to dance when you can not even see your own feet?? The push up was so not neccessary for that....could have gone in a potato dress, nobody would have noticed...what a waste of time. (but maybe I should not forget about that little boy at the wardrobe almost falling into my chest. I told him maybe in 10 years but he could not stop to stare - maybe one point for the push up. Anyway..the club sucked and the night ended early. Luckily we had the Mc Donalds before, so we could go straight home and better be where we should be with almost 30!

Sunday was starting well as Tanja made me a delicous breakfast and then I just went home, relaxing for a couple hours, working a little online and watching stupid Television until deep in the night.

And what did you do?

What´s going on

Hello everybody,

it has been a while...sorry.

What´s new? A lot! I am now back in Berlin, kind of settled for now. Sanne came as well and together we live in anice place near my moms. It is kind of outside the city but right now it comes in handy with all the striking going on in Germany...the S-Bahn is THE connection to get in. Hah!

I am still working online for Iamsterdamapartments in Amsterdam and will also start a new job here on March 19, 2008 for a Lawyer´s office. Money needs to come in...

It is good to be back, I hang out with my friends a lot, going out, visiting clubs I have not seen when I was young and supposed to see them back then....but whatever, it feels good and is a lot of fun. (here some pics and to get an idea)

Have fun.

Kisses, Mel
